Roberto Engels is co-founder and CEO of Biocapital S.A., a Brazilian biofuels company preparing for IPO. Previously he was the Managing Director of a Bank of America US$500M private equity fund for Latin America. He invested in Service Care S.A., Geoplan Ltd and Econ Distribuição S.A.. Robert became the CEO of Econ taking it through a turnaround that ended with a strategic sale.

In his executive career, Roberto has been the General Manager for YPF in Peru, as well as Manager of International Business Development in Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. He was a manager for Santista Textil for 4 years and consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton for 2 years.

Roberto is an investor in Biocapital and Care Plus.

He is a mechanical engineer from MIT and MBA from Harvard Business School.
